Abuse Awareness Training and Background Checks
Abuse Awareness Training
The Little League Abuse Awareness Training is a mandatory course for all volunteers, aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of participants. This course, which must be completed annually, covers essential topics such as recognizing and preventing abuse, creating a safe environment, and understanding the responsibilities of volunteers.
The training is designed to be user-friendly and is part of the broader educational resources available on the Little League website. Volunteers are required to complete this training along with their annual background check before they can begin their duties.
We've created a quick video illustrating the process to get signed up. You'll also see a sample certificate showing you the certificate ID needed to input in your registration. It is the lower blue box with white lettering on pink background.
We'll be doing waves of nagging emails -- I mean reminder emails to those who remain certificateless in our system. They will get increasingly more frequent. Do not test us, our treasurer lives for this and has a perfect record.
You're background check should be submitted if you're here directly from registration, for those others, read on.
Background Checks
Per Little League International regulations, all volunteers must undergo a background check. NCLL has partnered with JDP, a reputable screening service, to conduct these checks at no cost to volunteers.
During the registration process, volunteers will be asked confidential questions and may be required to upload a copy of their driver's license.
Unlike previous years, volunteer registration is now integrated in with the program in which you are enrolling your child. Sports Connect has a much more family centric approach to their account management process and this is a reflection of that. So you will simply go to our volunteers hub and follow the directions.
